Return an option to use the Old Interface. To much eye candy. Hard to use quickly &defectively... Great hardware, poor upgrade, to Techie...

Rachio is on of those rare products that lives up to the expectations. Set it up in 5 minutes. Programmed it in less than 5. Total install time 10 minutes. Love this product!!!

This app and website update is awesome. Yup that word and I mean it. Huge improvement over the previous version. I’ve never been so excited about watering my lawn. Look! I’m outside--my gorgeous hunkiness frolicking nudely amongst my luscious greenery in the gentle mist of my garden sprinkling system! (Slightly sarcastic, but it really is a much better app, so thank you muchly and well done.) And yes, I have been drinking.

I am traveling abroad, with spotty wifi and 3G connection. The Rachio behaved very well for weeks before we left (using the older version of the app), but the last time the watering happened as scheduled was the 27th. Since then the history has shown incomplete zone watering -- 2/4 zones in the history, 1/4 zones on the home page. The time of last watering on the home page does not match up with the times on the history page. The history page shows that watering was skipped due to 0.0 precipitation but our threshold is set at 0.25. When I tried to water all zones manually from abroad, it looked like it didnt finish (the manual screen showed that it nearly finished, hours later, and I only set it to run 15 x 4 zones). The history page showed only one zone watered for 15 minutes. I am now afraid that our landscape is completely dried up or the sprinklers havent stopped running. I hope its just a matter of the app update not picking up a complete and accurate history. I am very concerned that this new app was not tested properly prior to release.

Its not the most user friendly app but the system appears to work well.

Love the controller and used to like the app. Newest version completely unreliable. Had to disconnect the controller just to get the water to stop. Did developers even beta test this??

I installed this today and it connected to the Rachio right away and worked perfectly during the setup and my testing. Im excited to have a Nest-like interface for controlling my sprinklers and having them hooked into the weather forecasts automatically.

Update is unreliable and changed my watering times (which could get me fined in my community). Reconfiguring is confusing and not user-friendly. I’d would like to go back to the original app. The system was excellent before, not now.

Guys, one of the reasons I loved the app before is because it was simple to use and understand. It just got real complicated with the latest update. I have no idea how to start a zone now on demand if I need to water off schedule. Is there a way to do that in the update? This might have seemed good in planning, but the update seems way too complicated now.

The device functions erratically - takes weather data and stops watering your lawn when no rain falls on your place. I spend more time watering manually than with the old bird controller. Now it stopped watering zone 1 and the app does not let me change the schedule. The update made things far more complicated and some functions dont work. Terrible-wish I could return it.

This is a pretty good unit but it definitely needs a lot of tweaking. First...If you have drip lines and you want them to run over three hours you cant there is a maximum time per zone youre allowed. I keep getting notifications my watering is being skipped because of rain and its sunny out and I using the correct geographic location. I Find the app just not as user-friendly as Id like it. Not a big fan as of now. They Should incorporate wireless moisture sensors into the ground and then it would really be neat to just run based on the soil really needing wAtering not guessing.

Hello. Love the app. One request would be to add the ability to manually run a zone from the "MY YARD" photo layout. I have 17 zones and using the pictures to identify the zone is easier than the small text description. After clicking the picture of the zone and you get to "zone details" there should be a manual run time option. Thx.

The old app was okay and fairly intuitive. The new update mimics an overwrought weather site and obscures basic functionality. I have never seen an app make such enormous changes in one fell swoop and in this case theyve earned my first ever zero-star review (if I could). Clearly designed by committee.

New flex scheduling is working great. Ive just set it and let it go. Ive only had to make a minor adjustment to allow for a little more watering in a couple areas. Rachio continues to interact with their users and use their feedback when making decisions.

I never write reviews but after buying this unit and installing myself I had to. Amazing product and so easy to install- amazing. Im not that handy and it was easy- installed, fired it up and setup zones in minutes. Absolutely great product. Thank you!!!

What a great tool. The newest version is awesome. You tell it about your zones (plant type, soil type, shade, slope, with on-screen help while doing.that) and it takes it from there. It uses local weather data to determine precipitation and evaporation rates and apply the right amount of water only when needed. The webpage interface shows detailed graph view of the moisture level for each zone along with a table showing the underlying math. Overall an excellent $250 purchase for us.

This is a stunningly simple product that in my experience worked perfectly. I replaced an old Irritrol controller to control nine sprinkler valves on our commercial office building. Im not an electrician in fact Im not even a handyman but I set it up in about 30 minutes and it has worked flawlessly since then. I purchased a exterior enclosure and later contacted support to return it because I decided to place the controller inside the building and so did not need the exterior enclosure. My emails to support were responded to within no more than eight hours and if I didnt respond they contacted me again. This is one of my best experiences with a consumer product.
